First Presbyterian Church of Rensselaer proudly hosts local community groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous. If you wish to become involved in any of these groups then you can find out more information by contacting the church office.

First Presbyterian Church actively participates in a number of missions in the community. Among them are the Crisis Center, the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, the Backpack nutrition program for children, and Habitat for Humanity.

We also take part in national and world mission by assembling disaster relief kits, by supporting Wycliffe Bible Translators, by supporting medical mission through Malawi Matters, and helping to sponsor mission co-workers in Egypt.

Our children have also raised money for livestock enterprises in the U.S. and overseas through the Heifer Project.

We also support the larger mission work of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Our Mission Committee directs our mission work and would welcome your participation.

Our Annual

Chili Supper Fundraiser

We will host a Chili Supper to support a local charity on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Central Time. We are looking for volunteers to help us make this event a success! Please contact us if interested.

This year’s Chili Supper and Cookie Walk Fundraiser

This year we are raising funds for The Carnegie Players. We strive to fulfill the part of our church’s calling which is the promotion of social righteousness. (See the Great Ends of the Church.) This year we will help raise funds for the Carnegie Players to establish the safety of their new building so that they can continue to put on plays and other theater productions. Such groups are one of the things in almost every community that invite participation, that inspire people, and that bring fun, entertainment, and insight to one and all. The Carnegie Players are one of the groups in Rensselaer that support the flourishing of our community. And flourishing for one and all is the goal of social righteousness!
